A cloud trade copier for MetaTrader 4 and 5, explained

SnapCopier copies the trades of a master account to any number of follower accounts, between any brokers and between MT4 and MT5. It runs on our servers, so no terminal or VPS has to stay on. This page lists what it copies and the settings that control how.

What is copied

The copier watches the master account and repeats every change on each follower, not just the opening of a trade.

When the master…Each follower…
Opens a market positionEach follower opens a position on its own broker, sized by that follower’s lot rule.
Places a pending order (limit, stop, stop-limit)The matching pending order is placed at the same price level. Can be switched off per follower.
Changes stop loss or take profitThe follower’s levels follow. If several changes queue up, only the newest is sent.
Modifies or deletes a pending orderThe follower’s pending order is moved or cancelled.
A pending order fillsThe follower’s own pending order fills by itself. Optionally, if it did not, the copier opens at market within your slippage limit.
Closes part of a positionThe follower closes the same share of its copy, rounded to the broker’s lot step.
Closes a positionThe follower’s copy is closed.

Lot sizing and risk

Every follower sizes its own copies. Followers with different balances, currencies and brokers can follow one master with the same risk.

Balance or equity ratio

The follower’s lot scales with follower balance ÷ master balance (the default), or with equity, so the copy size follows floating profit and loss. Optionally times a factor.

Multiplier or fixed lot

A fixed multiple of the master’s lot, for example 0.5× or 2×, or the same lot on every trade whatever the master trades.

Contract-size normalisation

Brokers define a lot differently. 0.5 lot of a 100-ounce XAUUSD contract becomes 5 lots of a 10-ounce GOLD contract, so the exposure stays the same.

Cross-currency and cent accounts

Master and follower balances are compared in the follower’s currency, with the follower broker’s own rates. Cent accounts (USC, EUC) are supported.

Minimum and maximum lot

Cap the size per follower. A copy below the broker’s minimum is either opened at the minimum or skipped, as you choose.

Martingale and grid friendly

Optional series sizing keeps the ratio between the trades of a series, so a master that doubles its lot in a series has a follower that doubles too.

Symbols, filters and magic numbers

Brokers name the same instrument differently. The copier matches them, and lets you decide which trades are copied at all.

Prefixes and suffixes

EURUSD, EURUSD.m, EURUSDm, #US30 or XAUUSD-ECN: broker decorations are recognised, so the same instrument is matched across brokers.

Common aliases

GOLD and XAUUSD, US30 and DJ30, NAS100 and USTEC, GER40 and DAX, USOIL and WTI are treated as the same instrument.

Manual overrides

Map a symbol yourself where the automatic match is not what you want. Set it once as a default on the master, or per follower.

Symbol whitelist or blacklist

Copy only the symbols you list, or everything except them. Broker suffixes do not matter.

Magic number filter

Copy only the trades of selected expert advisors, or exclude them, using the magic number.

Clear skip reasons

If a symbol does not exist or cannot be traded at the follower’s broker, the trade is skipped and the reason is shown in the copy log.

Entries, exits and protection

Controls for the cases where two brokers do not quote or behave the same.

Stop loss and take profit

Copy both, either, or neither. Levels can be copied as absolute prices, or as the distance from the master’s entry applied to the follower’s own fill price, which is more precise between brokers with different quotes.

Late entries and slippage

Optionally take over the master’s open positions when a follower is connected, and enter late at a better price than the master got. Entries that moved are limited to a number of points you set.

Reverse copying

Open the opposite direction. Limit and stop orders are swapped accordingly.

Close orphans, close on disable

Close a follower’s copy when the master’s position is gone, and close copies at once when a link is switched off.

Margin guard

Off, Reduce or Skip. Reduce shrinks a trade that would need more than 90% of the follower’s free margin; Skip leaves it out. Useful when the master’s leverage is higher than the follower’s.

Broker limits respected

When a broker rejects trades for a position limit, a closed market or not enough money, the copier stops resending the same request and tries again when it can succeed.

Reliability: no missed closes, no duplicates

A copier is judged by what happens when something goes wrong: a dropped connection, a busy broker, a restart.

Self-healing reconciliation

After a reconnect, a restart, a gap in the event stream and every five minutes, each follower is compared with its master. Missed opens, closes and SL/TP changes are repaired.

No duplicate orders

Every copy carries the master’s ticket in its comment. If a broker does not answer an order in time, the copier checks whether it was filled before it would ever send it again, and it recognises its own copies after a crash.

Order in a position, speed across positions

The steps of one position (open, modify, partial close, close) run strictly in order. Different positions run in parallel, up to 16 requests at once per follower account.

Retries that make sense

Requotes are retried at the new price. A busy broker is retried with increasing delay. Rejections that will not change, such as invalid stops, are not repeated.

One trader per account

An account is traded by exactly one cloud node at a time, and a failed node’s accounts move to another within about a minute, so two nodes never copy the same trade twice.

Fastest access point

The connection to each broker is chosen by measured order round trip, not just ping, and quiet follower accounts are moved to a faster one when it pays off.

Managing masters and followers

Built for traders with a handful of accounts and for signal providers with a community.

Follower invite links

Share a private link. Followers sign up and connect their own accounts, and set their own risk when you allow it. You never see their trading passwords.

Defaults with per-follower overrides

Set your standard settings once on the master. Each follower inherits them field by field, and a change reaches every follower that has not set that field itself.

Follower groups

Put followers into groups with shared settings, for example a conservative and an aggressive tier.

Pause, suspend, remove

Pause a link, or suspend a follower in one click, for example when a subscription is overdue.

Live dashboard and copy log

See open copies and account status live. The log of every copy shows what was skipped and why, and how long the copy took, split into the copier’s own time, the price wait and the broker.

Investor-password masters

A master can connect with a read-only investor password. Read-only accounts can never receive an order.

MT4 and MT5, in any direction

The master and the followers of one link can be on different platforms and different brokers. Any MT4 or MT5 hedging account can be a follower; MT5 netting accounts cannot.

Questions about copying

What is a trade copier?

A trade copier mirrors the trades of one account, the master, onto other accounts, the followers. When the master opens, changes or closes a trade, the followers do the same, sized to their own balance. SnapCopier runs in the cloud, so there is nothing to install and no computer or VPS to keep running.

Does it copy trades from expert advisors and from the mobile app?

Yes. The copier follows the master account itself, so it does not matter whether a trade was placed by hand, by an expert advisor or from the mobile app. A magic number filter lets you copy only some advisors, or leave them out.

Can followers use a different lot size than the master?

Yes. Each follower has its own lot rule: balance ratio, equity ratio, a multiplier or a fixed lot, with minimum and maximum caps. Contract-size differences between brokers and currency differences are handled for you.

What if my follower’s broker uses different symbol names?

Prefixes, suffixes and common aliases are matched automatically, and you can map a symbol by hand. If a symbol cannot be traded at the follower’s broker, that trade is skipped and the reason is logged.

What happens to a trade if the connection drops?

When a connection comes back, every follower is compared with its master and anything that was missed is repaired, without opening a second copy of a trade that is already there.

Do I have to give followers or providers my trading password?

Followers enter their own account details, and a signal provider never sees them. Credentials are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. A MetaTrader trading password cannot be used to withdraw funds.
